Lake Ärtingen - A nutritious clearwater lake with a unique variety of species of fish!

Lake Ärtingen is undoubtedly one of the most exciting lakes in the region, especially regarding the great variety and richness of species in combination with numerous large grown perch!

Lake Ärtingen, about 1200 acres, is part of the Dalsland Canal lake system. The so-called Grea-stream, a smaller 70-yard-long canal, connects the lake to Lake Lelång.

Lake Ärtingen is, compared to the other lakes in the district, nutritious and filled with an abundance of species of fish. The local fishing conservation organisation has, in addition to the natural species, put out so-called "Östersil salmon-trout" and pike-perch. "Årbolsälven", the only larger feeder stream that can be found, flows into Lake Ärtingen from the north. from the lakes Askesjö and Fillingen.

There are some piles of brushwood which attract the perch. Fishing is recommended! In addition, the lake is easily accessible, situated merely a few kilometres from the town of Bengtsfors. For accommodation you can choose between two campsites and a smaller "holiday village" ( a group of leisure cottages for hire ), or several privately owned cottages situated around the lake. Finding well-adapted housing is the least problem for our fishing-guests!
