In order to be allowed to go fishing in the different waters fishing licences have to be purchased. In Dalsland the regulations are quite similar to those in the rest of Sweden. In general the licence is personal and cannot be lent to anyone else. The licence is valid for either a day, a week or a full year. For certain waters it is possible to purchase family cards. It is of the utmost importance that each holder of a fishing licence studies all preprinted rules and regulations thoroughly. In lake Vänern, the largest lake in Sweden, no fishing licence is needed. However, there are quite a few regulations, such as minimum measurements, restricted periods and so on, which have to be taken into consideration. More information concerning the fishing in lake Vänern can be found on our "Vänern page", together with other links to additional pages. When you arrive in Dalsland and acquire your fishing licence you will be positively surprised about the price level and the rather generous regulations, especially if you have purchased licences in other places before. Besides, always keep your licence with you when you go fishing. In the menu to the right you will find ways to click on to 12 different fishing conservation areas ( about 50 fishing waters ) , where all specific information for each area is available. |
