Species of Fish in Lake Lelång.

Whitefish can mostly be found in the larger and deeper lakes in Dalsland. A salmon-like fish, normally around 0,3-0,4 kg. The weight varies somewhat between the different lakes and types of whitefish. Unfortunately, the Dalsland species of whitefish are difficult to catch on a spinning rod.

Henceforth, most of the fishing is done with nets during the autumn, the spawning time of the whitefish. In the larger lakes the whitefish is rather numerous during October-November.

Whitefish is a widely appreciated foodfish, easy to gut, relatively few bones and a good taste. Butterfried whitefish filets, lightly coated with egg and breadcrumbs, are a culinary experience!
