Trolling Fishing - Exciting and Efficient Haul-Fishing.

The equipment needed, apart from a suitable boat, are spinning rods, a deep rig, a sonar (not essential), rod holders and a number of baits. Larger wobblers and spoons are good for pike fishing. Different colours can do the trick, but red and white wobblers are rather safe bets. Trout and char prefer the smaller spoons, like the Rappala, the Bomber and the so-called flatter spoons. The colours should be green, natural, blue and orange, and the size should be between 8 to 12 cm.

The autumn and spring fishing for salmon uses a depth around 10-15 metres. During the early spring and late autumn the fishing might be good even at the surface, which means that no deep rigs are needed. The pike can be caught throughout the whole year as long as the water is not frozen. The first half of September is usually the best time to go fishing for pike.

A short description of deep-rig fishing:
1. Let out as much line as you wish to haul (usually about 15-25 m ) Squeeze the line into the line trigger of the sink lead.
2. Release the reel and hit the creak. Lower the sink lead with the hauling bait down to the requested depth, which can be seen on the distance meter of the deep rig.
3.When the fish takes the bait the line is released from the line trigger.
4. Quickly grab hold of the rod, lift it out of the holder and start drilling the fish right away on the rod! Be sure to rewind the sink lead as soon as possible, to avoid getting the fish into the line. )
