Eel
A mysterious species of fish, which is numerous and large grown in the
lakes in Dalsland. Eels weighing around 1 kg are very common, and even
2 kg-specimen are not too rare. In the old days the eel was mostly caught
on a long line.
The eel can also be caught when bottom angling, using worms or small pieces of fish. Many people consider the eel to be a real treat on the dinner table, even though it is one of the fattest species of fish to be found in Sweden.
